Description:
The obverse of this medal bears the head of King Edward
VII while the reverse depicts the fortified city of Lhasa on top
of a hill with the words 'TIBET 1903-04' below. The suspender is
of the swivelling ornate scroll type.

Silver or bronze.
Size:
36mm.
Clasps:
'GYANTSE'.
Ribbon:
Green with a broad central maroon stripe and two narrower
white stripes either side.
Naming:
Impressed
capital letters or engraved.
Comments:
Most awards of this medal went to Indian troops who along
with British personnel were awarded this medal in silver. Camp followers
received the medal in bronze.
