Description:
Eight pointed star with the top point being covered by
the royal crown. In the centre is a circular plaque with the royal
cypher surrounded by the words 'FOR FAITHFUL SERVICE'. Those awared
to female recpients had a circular laurel wreath instead of the
star.

Silver and gold.
Size:
61mm high and 55mm wide.

Crimson with a broad central blue stripe.

Comments:
This medal was awarded to Administrative and Clerical grades
of the civil service for 25 years service at home, 20 years and
6 months in India or 16 years in the tropics. The last award in
the UK was made in 1995 but later awards in the Commonwealth have
continued.
